Description

Keynote address: Being open to transformation in challenging times,  David Rendall

Winston Churchill once said that “the farther backward we can look, the farther forward we are likely to see.” Unfortunately, in times of crisis, we often forget the lessons that we learned from surviving and then recovering from previous experiences. How can we identify those lessons from the past? How can we apply them during our current crises? How can we ensure our organization is poised to capitalize on the opportunities that will present themselves today and in the future? We can’t imitate the behavior of other leaders. We can’t assume that the normal responses to crisis are effective. In fact, it might be that what everyone else is doing is wrong. Are you prepared to transform to meet today’s new needs?

Panel: Systemic inequities in healthcare and community care: How organizations can lead long-term change

The COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement have exposed long-standing systemic inequities impacting the health and wellness of individuals and communities across the U.S. This panel of health and community care experts will share insights on how they’re addressing the far-reaching effects of discrimination based on race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and more. Gain foundational knowledge about the many different forms of systemic oppression, and come away with actionable strategies you can implement today to help your organization and community become inclusive, diverse, and equitable.
