Dr. Afzal  Chaudhry, Chief Medical Information Officer of the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) oversaw the first end-to-end implementation of Epic Systems in Europe. In this session, Dr. Chaudhry will provide an overview of the eHospital initiative behind that effort, including key reasons for moving to a new system, where they struggled, and what they learned along the way. Dr. Chaudhry will offer a view into change management practices that address the human side of technology change, and he will discuss the importance and challenges of interoperability in a hospital system. As healthcare IT is constantly evolving, he will share where they are today, and where they want to go next.
