Description
Management of critical documents and training is challenging enough without the additional layer of accreditation and regulatory standards. Use of manual processes dependent on spreadsheets, emails, and memory makes for an unsustainable system riddled with weaknesses that are prone to error. Working within an institution’s document-control software that only partially meets the needs is equally frustrating. These are common struggles for a health care quality program. This presentation will review the quality documentation-related challenges experienced by the Blood & Marrow Transplant Program at Baylor University Medical Center, and how implementing a software system is expected to enhance the processes as well as allow time for higher-value responsibilities. Objectives:: 1.Review common quality challenges in blood/cell therapy programs
2.Identify the risks associated with manual processes 3
.Learn specific ways technology can meet quality, and documentation challenges
