Dr Conroy has practiced rehabilitation medicine for 25 years. During much of that time he served as CMIO at the Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC, where he contributed to the design, medical staff training and implementation of two inpatient rehabilitation documentation systems: MediLinks, built by the MediServe company, now known as WellSky, and Cerner Millenium. Following a move to private practice in Louisiana, Dr Conroy has learned to work with yet a third EHR, Epic. His presentation will be a comparison discussion of these three systems and will conclude with ideas and suggestions for how electronic health records can be more beneficial and/or less disadvantageous in the near future.
