Aaron has more than 20 years of experience with BKD and oversees the operations of BKD Health Care Billing & Revenue Cycle Services, a special team that manages the billing and revenue cycle operations for more than 100 home care, hospice and senior living organizations throughout the nation. A leading national home care and hospice consultant, he routinely performs revenue cycle outsourcing and enhancement services. He frequently consults with providers and legal counsel on billing and operations compliance matters, including assisting providers with compliance audits required by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and program integrity contractors. He also provides data analytics, financial, operational and reimbursement consulting services.

Nationally recognized for his expertise in home care and hospice billing and revenue cycle operations, he serves on the Home Care & Hospice Financial Managers Association (HHFMA) Advisory Board and Workgroup. He was the initial chair of the HHFMA’s Young Professionals Committee and is an active member of its Business Analytics Committee. He has also served on the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) Corporate Advisory Committee, an ad-hoc committee of the VNAA Board of Directors, and the Alliance for Home Health Quality & Innovation’s Quality & Innovation Work Group. Aaron routinely presents educational seminars for NAHC, HHFMA, National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), and numerous other regional and state industry organizations. He is also involved in supporting the advocacy efforts of multiple state home care and hospice organizations.

Aaron has been nationally recognized as an industry thought leader on PDGM. He participated in developing the data analytics, financial and operations content for the NAHC National PDGM Summits and presented at four of the national summits, including those in Colorado, Louisiana, Missouri and Texas. Additionally, he has presented on PDGM at numerous state industry events.

Aaron is a member of the Palmetto GBA (PGBA) Home Health and Hospice Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group and the PGBA 16-State Home Health and Hospice Coalition. He frequently consults with home care and hospice software vendors on regulatory and revenue cycle matters.

Aaron has authored BKD Thoughtware® articles and is routinely quoted in national home care periodicals, including those published by Eli Research and DecisionHealth.

His professional affiliations include the HHFMA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). He also is a member of Class 30 of Leadership Springfield, an organization dedicated to identifying and developing leaders in the Springfield community. He was selected by the Springfield Business Journal as a member of its 2015 class of “40 Under 40,” which is awarded by an independent panel of judges to up-and-coming community professionals under age 40.

He is a 1997 summa cum laude graduate of College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Missouri, with a B.S. degree in business administration.
