In this session, Dr. Lisa Deal will discuss the history of alcohol withdrawal while introducing several mechanisms for alcohol withdrawal assessment. Dr. Deal will introduce algorithms using standard treatments and innovative adjunctive therapeutics for acute alcohol withdrawal. Finally, the session will review data regarding maintenance therapy for prevention of relapse.
