Mrs. Burchfield has over 20 years of healthcare experience. She has served in various roles with healthcare systems, nursing homes, and area agencies on aging. Mrs. Burchfield started her career as a nursing assistant, then a registered nurse, and aspired to attend and graduate from law school with a passion to improve the system that enables the older adults to age in the community and independently in their homes. She has served in clinical and operational roles in acute and post-acute care settings. Her experiences also include establishing and managing compliance programs as well as serving as legal counsel. Currently she is Sr. VP Compliance, Legal Affairs, Data Protection and Privacy at Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging. In her current role, Mrs. Burchfield has been actively involved in complex contract negotiations for transition of care, counseling on innovative solutions to improve health for older adults as they are discharged from the hospital back to their homes. Mrs. Burchfield is a registered nurse and an Ohio licensed attorney with certification in healthcare compliance.
