Best practices for increasing interoperability and preventing data vulnerabilities (Rehabilitation, LTACH, LTC, Behavioral Health)
Date & Time
Monday, September 12, 2022, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Description

With an increasing emphasis on information sharing - in addition to new penalties brought on by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and Cures Act for vendors who are considered information blockers - we are seeing an uptick in direct messaging communication along with increased integration within the vendor community. This is an exciting time as we holistically view the patient as they engage with the entire care continuum.  With all this great activity we must realize the inevitable increase in potential vulnerabilities within our IT ecosystems. It is our responsibility to strengthen our efforts to prevent and detect vulnerabilities and ensure systems are protected from intruders. In this session we will discuss examples of increased interoperability and processes you can put in place today to combat new potential threats you may encounter through this increased information sharing.
